Community Groups

Community Groups at Emmaus Church are intended to help foster friendships and spiritual growth among the church body. Groups are hosted in homes of church members, in White Bear Lake and surrounding neighborhoods. Each Community Group meets twice a month—with some groups meeting on a weeknight and others on Sundays after service.

Our Community Groups are less structured than a typical small group ministry. The focus of group time is to have intentional conversation rooted in biblical truth, care for one another, pray for one another, model hospitality and generosity, and slowly grow together in faith, hope, and love. Community Groups are multi-generational with children always in the mix of things.

At Emmaus Church, our primary focus is Sunday morning service. We believe that is the pinnacle of each week, and it takes precedent over any other church activity. But to build long lasting and deep relationships (which we all long for and need!), we need more than just a few minutes here and there before and after service. Community Groups are a structure intended to help us build and foster friendships. They are no magic solution to relationships. That takes work, consistency, and sacrifice! But we hope that Community Groups bless the church, as we seek to grow together. May God help us.
